Old Pulteney 12
Old Pulteney 12 is the 12 year old expression from Old Pulteney released in mid-2018 was entirely aged in bourbon casks, resulting in a heavy influence of bourbon sweetness – which helps to balance the characteristic coastal salinity of the whisky. An excellent introduction to Old Pulteney (though well worth a look even if you’ve already been introduced).

What some of our whisky enthusiast friends have said about Old Pulteney 12
Quote 1 “This has to be one of the best Whisky’s for the price. The flavor is very sweet, notes of vanilla, butterscotch and lots of amaretto notes. It smells nice, but the flavor really hits the mark. Excellent.”
Quote 2 “The complexity and excellence of this malt is outstanding for its price point and an easy 5 star. The nose opens with a huge sweet honey influence, which gives way to oak, vanilla and sea air. On the palate, there’s chocolate and more oak, before the salinity and citrus notes of this whisky really start to open up on the tongue and finally a peppery spice influence develops. The finish is medium, but what it lacks in length is more than compensated by incredible complexity. The citrus really plays out in the finish, with the salt staining the tongue, which gives way to chocolate eclair sweetness at the last.”
Quote 3 “This one was a one of my first bottles when I was started my whisky adventure… I love it”
