Crafted by Johnnie Walker Master Distiller, Jim Beveridge, Johnnie Walker Ghost and Rare is a rich, velvety smooth blend of eight treasured Scotch whiskies, including three “ghost” whiskies from the silent distilleries of Cambus, Pittyvaich and the Highland Single Malt, Brora, which lies at the heart of this special release bringing a light peatiness and sophisticated subtle sweetness.
Description
Jim Beveridge – Johnnie Walker Master Distiller, crafted the special Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost and Rare. It is a rich, velvety smooth blend of eight treasured Scotch whiskies. Includes three “ghost” whiskies from the silent distilleries of Cambus, Pittyvaich and the Highland Single Malt, Brora, which lies at the heart of this special release. Hence to bring a light peatiness and sophisticated subtle sweetness.
The additional five whiskies are rare expressions of malt. In addition, grains from the existing distilleries: Royal Lochnagar, Clynelish, Glenkinchie, Glenlossie and Cameronbridge. Without a doubt, the result is a smooth scotch, with the fruity sweetness of pineapple; rich notes of hazelnut and dark chocolate, with a subtle smoky finish.
For the inaugural expression, Jim Beverage has created a blend with a helping of single malt from the legendary Brora distillery at its core.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Earthy oak and petrichor, tempered by layers of thyme honey and maple syrup.
Palate: Rich walnut and hazelnut notes begin to take shape on the palate, joined by whiffs of peat smoke and roasted orchard fruit.
Finish: Vanilla pod and brown sugar, with just a hint of salted caramel appearing right at the end.
