Glenlivet Nadurra Oloroso

Description

The Glenlivet Nadurra Oloroso — as the name implies, this whisky spends its entire life in Oloroso Sherry casks.  One of only two Glenlivet products to be matured in this way.  This is a 1000ml bottle.

Glenlivet Nàdurra range is crafted in small batches. Using traditional production methods and is matured to showcase the versatility and flawless quality of The Glenlivet spirit.  Unlike most modern whiskies, the range is bottled without chill-filtration. It offers the additional complexity, body, and texture of a whisky that has just been drawn from the cask.

Tasting Notes

Nose:  The nose offers lots of grain and cereal notes with just a touch of orange oil and apple pie spice atop the cereal notes.  Hints of struck match, anise, cinnamon and vanilla.

Palate: On the body, that granary character is strong, but not overpowering, with notes of sherried fruit (naturally), plus an unripe banana.  Give it a minute and the anise on the nose comes running back too.

Finish: Dark chocolate and drying spice.
