Dalwhinnie Distillers Edition 1997
A Distillers Edition bottling of Dalwhinnie single malt Scotch whisky, distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2014. Before it was bottled, it was given a finishing period in Oloroso Sherry casks, imparting plenty of those sweet, yummy notes of plump raisins and redcurrants, along with a gloriously thick mouth-feel.

Dalwhinnie Distillers Edition 1997 is a Distillers Edition bottling of Dalwhinnie single malt Scotch whisky, distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2014. Before it was bottled, it was given a finishing period in Oloroso Sherry casks, imparting plenty of those sweet, yummy notes of plump raisins and redcurrants, along with a gloriously thick mouth-feel.
A sweetness on the lips, moving to well-defined malt cask-wood flavours. Rich, longer finish than usual, honey finish with hints of sweet oak.
Discontinued everywhere. A must-have for the collector.
Nose: Honeyed malt, soft sherry notes and a polite smokiness.
Palate: Crushed up almonds dusted with sugar, dark berry jam and oak spices.
Finish: Hints of peat.
