Description

Dalmore King Alexander III is a sextuple-wood bottling from Dalmore. This auspiciously-named dram was matured in wine, Madeira, Sherry, Marsala, Kentucky bourbon and Port casks. It is a rich, fruity Highland single malt.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Malty and utterly Dalmore. Seville orange zest, Parfait Amour, malty cereal, barley and chocolate. Besides, with creamy vanilla fudge, tropical fruit with a vaguely vinous quality.

Palate: Medium and rounded. With winterberries, spice, zesty orange. Liqueurs emerge; Grand Marnier, kirsch and Frangelico.

Finish: Peppery with well-integrated oak and the claret makes a last-minute appearance.

What some of our whisky enthusiast friends have said about Dalmore King Alexander III

Quote 1 “This whisky is as others have said – a masterpiece. Take the Dalmore 15, which is already a sophisticated and well-balanced dram with a hearty and delicious Christmas cake profile. Then unlock all the dormant potential within that whisky: the fruit, the spices, the subtle woodiness, the rich and warming smoothness. By magic, this whisky takes all of those flavours and enhances them. Making them stand out individually on your palate, while you sip but still seeming like parts of a greater whole. In short, a whisky you must absolutely try once in your life, even if the price means you have to make do with a sample (as in my case)”

Quote 2 “This was no doubt one of the most memorable and thought provoking. Quite wonderful whiskies I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing, shared the privilege with some friends who were equally as delighted with the uniquely smooth complexities that can only be described first class.”
